PARIS — The debut on Tuesday of the
Renault Mégane Sport dCi marks the addition of a high-performance diesel to the
Renault Sport lineup. The new model is available in three-and five-door versions and starts at the equivalent of $38,525 for the
Sport dCi hatchback.
The Mégane
Sport dCi gets a 2.0-liter common-rail diesel with a variable geometry turbocharger that delivers 175 horsepower at 3,750 rpm and 266 pound-feet of torque at 2,000 rpm. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption is 36 mpg.
Renault is positioning the Mégane
Sport dCi as a high-performance ride that is also fuel-efficient.
Options include 18-inch alloy wheels, metallic paint and dark charcoal leather Recaro sport bucket seats.
