The hugely profitable
sports car firm is being sold off by
Ford to raise some extra money for the beleaguered automotive leviathan, which is expected to sell for more than £500 million.
The announcement will be made at 13.00 hours GMT today, that's 1pm to you and me, at
Aston's Gaydon headquarters.
Among the known bidders looking to take on
Aston Martin is David Richards, who owns rally firm Prodrive. Richards has been involved with
Aston before, helping to develop rally and road versions of the
V8 Vantage.
If the sale goes ahead today with Richards at the helm, it's expected the current Aston boss Ulrich Bez will be asked to stay on, even though Bez is also bidding for the chance to own the company.
