Not so much a Chinese takeaway as a Chinese take-off, the Byd F8 shamelessly cribs the style of the Mercedes CLK to become China's first ever convertible with a folding metal roof.
The
F8 is due to have the covers taken off at the upcoming Beijing Motorshow. Visitors will also have a chance to ogle its rear end, which resembles that of the Vauxhall Astra TwinTop.
The roof retracts in 25 seconds and is said to reveal a four seater cabin with decent space in the rear.
There's plenty of standard equipment included with the
F8 for China's ever increasing middle classes to fiddle with, such as a DVD player and bluetooth capabilities.
Byd has no plans as yet to export the
F8 around the world, but it goes on sale in China early in 2007 with a price tag of around £15,400.
