But it does say that the name Neeza comes from ancient Chinese mythology and conveys the message of extraordinary power — and that the concept was painted red to highlight that it is a Chinese car.
The Neeza is intended to demonstrate the capabilities of local designers and engineers. The company also says this concept is the first step toward making Shanghai Volkswagen a company with its own independent design team, not just a manufacturing enterprise.
VW said some elements of the Neeza may appear on future Shanghai Volkswagen models.
