LAS VEGAS —
Mitsubishi calls it getting "EVO-ived." What this means is that the Japanese automaker tuned its '07 Outlander with an "urban performance" theme.
The
Evolander uses the Outlander's 3.0-liter V6 engine rated at 220 horsepower and tweaks it to 300 hp with the help of an ATI/Roadrace Engineering Procharger system.
The engine is linked to a six-speed automatic transmission that the company says is actuated by the same magnesium-alloy paddle shifters that will be part of the equipment of the next-generation performance model.
The
Evolander is outfitted with lightweight 20-inch OZ wheels and high-performance Yokohama Advan ST performance tires. The
Evolander has a more aggressive and aerodynamic look than the Outlander, thanks to lowered side sills, fender vents, a rear diffuser and a Ralliart rear spoiler.
The cabin gets Recaro Sport racing seats, a rear DVD entertainment system and a Rockford Fosgate 650-watt audio system.
