TSN: Record Viewership for Yesterday's Daytona 500 on TSN

From TSN.ca

TSN's live coverage of yesterday's Daytona 500 was the most-watched motorsport race in TSN history with a national average audience of 568,000 viewers*. Audience levels peaked at 695,000 viewers from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET.

The audience is especially noteworthy since the NASCAR race (2:27 p.m. to 6:38 p.m. ET) was competing for viewers with live men’s hockey coverage of Team Canada vs. Finland (approximately 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET).

Yesterday’s audience represents a three per cent increase over TSN’s previous auto racing benchmark (the 2005 Daytona 500, with 550,000 viewers).

TSN has been televising the Daytona 500 every year since 1998, excluding the 2004 race. This year, TSN is airing 21 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup races, all of which are available in High Definition on TSN HD.
