NCATS: Team Fastline Lapcevich brothers finish top-ten at Montreal

Team Fastline Motorsports drivers Jeff and Jim Lapcevich placed eighth and ninth respectively driving the Tim Hortons - EMCEA Transport Chevrolet Monte Carlos in Saturday’s NAPA AUTOPRO 100 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.

Jeff Lapcevich started ninth in the 31-car field, on the 15-turn 2.71-mile street circuit. “We were able to work our way up to third, and thought we had a shot at a podium finish, but restarts were a set back,” said Jeff Lapcevich, of Caistor Center, Ontario. “I was disappointed that we didn’t finish better, all in all it was a great weekend for the team. Jimmy did a great job coming to the back for a ninth place finish.”

Brother Jim Lapcevich started dead last after experiencing an engine failure during practice on Friday, on Île Notre-Dame, for the 23-lap race in Quebec at the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. “I’m proud of our team, everyone on both crews came together and worked very hard,” explained Jim Lapcevich, who resides in Grimsby, Ontario. “I had some serious fun today, it was unfortunate that we had the motor problem before qualifying, I think we would have been contenders.”

Kerry Micks used a final lap pass on Andrew Ranger to win the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event and Robin Buck was third. “I’m proud of both Jeff, Jimmy and our team, they showed what they are made of,” stated Joe Lapcevich, Fastline Team Owner and father of Jeff and Jim Lapcevich. “It was a great day for Team Fastline.”

The next event for Team Fastline will be race seven in the 12-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Mosport Speedway, as Canada's top stock car drivers take to Canada's fastest half-mile oval in the Full Throttle Energy Drink 200 presented by Canadian Shield Anticrime Response Corporation on Saturday, August 11.
