John Fletcher Captures 2nd OSCAAR Win of 2007 At Peterborough Speedway

Thanks to Dave Franks for sending these photos!

On Saturday night the OSCAAR Outlaw Super Late Model Series made its first of three visits this year to Peterborough Speedway. The night saw the first repeat winner of the season as John Fletcher took the checkers in dominating fashion, leading from green to checkers.

The JNE Consulting #61 of Fletcher sat on the pole for the feature event and had it his own way for a while. But the caution flew on lap 11 and he found that a very racy looking Rob Clarke had made his way through traffic and now sat on his rear bumper for the restart. When the green flew again Clarke made his presence known, dogging Fletcher through each corner, at times with the nose right up under the rear bumper of the #61 machine as the two veterans fought it out in a classic battle for the fans, clocking in laps in the 13.3 second bracket. Fletcher was not to be denied though.

The #61 pilot never put a foot wrong and as the laps clicked off the pressure from Clarke began to ease a little and he brought it home to take the checkers having led all the way. "I'd like to thank JNE Consulting for their continued support" said Fletcher, "and our car owner Bill Snowden isn't at the track with us tonight. He hasn't been feeling well, so we want him to get feeling better and get back here with us."
