CHAMPIONS TO BE DECIDED FRIDAY NIGHT AT SPEEDWORLD

HALIFAX, NS (2005 September 1) - Five 2005 Budweiser Weekly Racing division champions will be decided Friday night, Miller Tire Night at Scotia Speedworld. After a full racing season and several hundred laps of competition, it all boils down to what happens this week, the final Friday night show of the year at the 3/10-mile asphalt oval.

In the C&R Auto Supply Sportsman class, Mel Tibert leads Terry Roma by just seven points. Harry Ross White is a close third, just 10 markers behind Roma.

The Nova Automotive Hobby Stock divisions sees Joey Webber with a slim 10-point advantage over Bryan Watson, and Watson just one point ahead of rookie Loman Bezanson. Fourth-place mark Wilson is just four points behind Bezanson and Rob Crawford in fifth place, just 11 points behind Crawford. All tolled, just 26 points separate the top five in this division!

In RV Contacts Legends action, Ed Hayden has a bit of a cushion over Justin MacNeil, with a 21-point lead. Third-place Cy Harvey is 34 points behind MacNeil.

Miller Tire BFGoodrich Thunder & Lightning divisions see former Thunder Car champ Tim Webster leading the Thunder Car class. Webster has a 14-point advantage over Matthew Scott. In the Lightning class Sudzy Russell leads Kenny Hopper by 31 points.

A special 100-lap feature for the Miller Tire BFGoodrich Thunder and Lightning divisions Friday night will close the show and the season for the weekly classes at Scotia Speedworld. The non-points race will see as many cars as enter start the race.

Grandstand admission is just $12 for adults and $2 for youth from 8 to 15. Children seven and under will be admitted free. Pit admission is $15 and restricted to those 16 and older. HST is included in all admission prices.
