Released Prepared by Todd Lewis, T&L Sports EntertainmentSeptember 5, 2005. Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge team were looking for a bounce back race as they made their second visit of the season to Delaware Speedway. The Great Canadian Weekend at Delaware Speedway is the biggest stock car race of the year in Canada and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge team was rewarded for their efforts.Qualifying did not go as well as the team would have liked and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge began the 300 lap event from the 19th position. Early on Cathcart tried to just settle into a rhythm but that was made difficult by the many caution periods. “Guys were pretty intense out their today” smiled Cathcart afterwards. “We just tried to stay out of trouble and stick with our strategy”.
As pit stops cycled through for the teams Cathcart would move up in the field and was able to post consistent lap times throughout the race. “Our car was pretty solid today” said the driver afterwards. “We changed motors prior to this event and things worked out well”.
Late in the race the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge began to experience brake problems like many of the other competitors. “It was pretty hot today and with everybody racing as hard as they were we used up a lot of brake” said Cathcart. “At the end I just tried to take care of the equipment and get the best possible finish”.
Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge would gain seven positions from the start and finish 12th overall.
Bryan Cathcart and the Meyers Transport/Peterborough Homes/Parkview Homes Dodge return to Cayuga Speedway on Saturday September 10th. This is the make up date for the previous event rained out in August.
