Bentley Hatchback

Bentley-wagon-1.jpg

To some this is a shooting brake. To which we say, "Gimme a break. It's a hatchback." And by that we mean no disrespect for the machine, which is without a doubt one of the coolest hatchbacks we've ever seen.
Actually it's called the Bentley Continental Flying Star by Touring, and it was built out of a Continental GTC for a very rich customer. But you can have your own. Touring, which built this Flying Star with the blessing of Bentley, is planning on building some more. You just have to cough up the cash. How much? Well, you know the old saying, "If you have to ask..."
And if the GTC's 560-hp 6.0-liter W12 just isn't enough, Touring will build you one from a Continental GTC Speed, which packs 610 hp. Can a Supersports variant be far behind? All Flying Stars get an alloy power tailgate, hand-crafted steel rear fenders and aluminum door skins. Touring says it'll torch together somewhere in the neighborhood of "less than 20 a year."
And then there's the cargo volume. With the rear seats folded (yes, like a hatchback) it'll hold four sets of golf clubs. Of course, with the rear seats folded only two blokes are goin' golfin' in this thing, but that's besides the point.
What is the point? We want one.
By the way, Touring would like to point out that shooting brake conversions are part of its "genetic heritage" that includes the Lamborghini-based 1966 Flying Star II prototype. Google it. It's cool.
