Toyota rolled out its
Lexus LS 600h L hybrid luxury sedan in its home market of Japan this week, with a selling price of 15 million yen, or about $124,000. The company expects to sell 7,000 worldwide, including 4,000 in Japan, this year.
Exports start next month, the company said. The
LS 600h L will have a $104,000 MSRP when it hit U.S. dealers this summer.
The
Lexus LS 600h L has a 5.0-liter engine paired with a high-output electric motor, which the company says is the world's first full-hybrid V8 powertrain. It also offers full-time all-wheel drive, a host of luxury appointments and safety equipment — and a 28.7-mpg fuel economy average.
