Funkmaster Flex, the musical star who has been Ford's link to the hip-hop aesthetic, visited the automaker's Michigan Truck Plant this week, production site of the Flex Expedition that is named for him. The special-edition SUV was unveiled at the New York auto show last month.
Funkmaster Flex's Car Wars TV series starts its new season on Sunday on ESPN2. It will be sponsored by Ford and will feature a 2008 Lincoln Navigator to be modified by four groups of contestants with a $50,000 prize at stake.
The 2008 Flex Expedition, which goes on sale in the fall, has a 3d Carbon body kit, a custom interior and a bold two-tone paint job.
