Three modification companies have each got their hands on a C30 and given the sporty hatch a customised makeover, including engine enhancements, body modifications and the obligatory audio tune-up.
Such language would normally have us cringing, but we reckon these bastard offspring all look pretty damn good.

The specialist Volvo tuner has boosted the C30's power from a mere 220bhp to nearly 400 horses with a turbocharged powertrain and a belt-driven supercharger.
They've also added a big brake package and fully adjustable coil springs, as well as an audio system capable of shattering eardrums at a thousand paces.
Best of all, it's all wrapped up in a funky Swedish flag paintjob. No, it's not subtle, but when it looks this good we don't really care.
Our only worry with Volvo and its youthification (if it's not a word, it should be) is that it's a bit like your uncle hitting a midlife crisis and deciding to wear combat pants and listen to hip-hop. Or your granddad in jeans.
Can the Swedes reinvent themselves, or will it be old dogs and new tricks?
