CANADIAN SPRINT CAR NATIONALS: EARLY ENTRIES OFFERS INCENTIVES

OHSWEKEN, ON – With the September 17 running of the inaugural “Canadian Sprint Car Nationals” less than twenty weeks away, teams are reminded that “Early Bird” pre-entries are now being accepted which bring with them special benefits.

Glenn Styres along with SOD regular Mark Broughman have already filed pre-entries and taken advantage of the special discounted pre-entry which is available from now until July 1st at a cost of $30 U.S. ($40 CAN.) All entries must be paid in full at the time of submission and will include one (1) Pit Pass (a $30 U.S. value). In addition, paid pre-entries filed before July 1st will also be eligible to purchase up to five (5) additional Pit Passes at a discounted rate of $25 U.S. each ($35 CAN.) if paid in full at the time of pre-entry submission.

Entries after July 1st that are received before September 10th will cost $50 U.S. ($70 CAN.) and will not include a free pit pass or the option to purchase additional discounted pit passes.

All entries filed after September 10th will cost $70 U.S. ($95 CAN.).

All race day Pit Passes will cost $30 U.S. ($40 CAN.). No membership cards will be accepted for discounted pit passes.

“The Canadian Sprint Car Nationals” is an open-competition, winged 360 event. All sprint car teams which abide by the administrative, technical and procedural rules as set forth by Ohsweken Speedway are welcome. Ohsweken Speedway reserves the right to reject any pre-entry for any reason and all decisions are final.

The September 17th tentative schedule calls for the Pit gates to open at 10:00 a.m. with the driver’s meeting to get underway at 4:00 p.m. followed immediately by Hot Laps and Time Trials. Racing to begin at 7:45 p.m. All cars must be processed through tech before being allowed on the track.

A “Rain Date” of September 18th has been established for the event. If necessary, Pit Gate will open at 9:00 a.m. with Time Trials at 11:00 a.m. Racing will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Friday night, September 16th will see Ohsweken Speedway host a regular program plus the SOS Invitational to determine their season champion. Also on tap will be the running of the “Ohsweken Shootout”, a 10 lap dash featuring three cars from each of the “Canadian Sprint Car Nationals” affiliate sanctioning series. The top three finishers at each of the affiliate’s first Ohsweken Speedway event during the 2005 season, who can attend, will make up the field. The first qualifier will be the Patriot Sprint Group event scheduled for May 6 followed by the Southern Ontario Sprints on May 20th. The Empire Super Sprints on June 24 and Sprints On Dirt August 26th will determine the remainder of the field. The “Shootout” will feature 12 cars for 10 laps paying the winner $500 U.S.

Practice time has also been arranged for September 16th for all paid “Nationals” registered cars who are not competing in the SOS Invitational. Three sessions will be staggered during the evening with the first to take to the track at approximately 7:30 p.m. All “Nationals” registered cars that are not competing in the SOS Invitational and wish to practice will receive two free Pit Passes for the Friday Night Show practice session.
