Nissan has replaced the heart of its
350Z sports car because it has the technology to do it.
Unlike Steve Austin, the Z is not nuclear powered but has a
new 3.5 V6 engine.
So what? It had one before. Not one with 309bhp that revs to 7,500rpm. There's also a boost in torque to 264lb ft.
There's a whole load of technical gubbins gone into making the engine more powerful, but the bottom line is the
350Z is now faster, although
Nissan won't tell us by how much until it unveils the car in Geneva.
You'll be able to spot the new version due to an increased bonnet bulge.
There are some fresh paint and interior trim options too, while Bridgestone has developed a new tyre that is quieter while improving grip.
The
revised 350Z goes on sale in the UK in May.
