Lelystad, Netherlands – The Netherlands-based car manufacturer
Donkervoort is preparing to launch it’s first hard-top coupe. The maker of
Lotus 7 inspired specialty cars with the heart of a modified Audi 1.8T plans on debuting its so-named
D8 GT at the Geneva Auto Show this spring.

The
new D8 GT features Lamborghini-style scissor doors and is expected to continue use of the 1.8T engine for now. There’s been no word of a change to the newer FSI-powered 2.0TFSI or 1.8TFSI motors currently offered by Audi.
Expect about 50
D8 GT coupes a year from
Donkervoort to be built alongside their existing D8 open-top range.
