SUSSEX, N.J. (January 11) – In a whirlwind of off-season activity, champion dirt track Modified driver Brett Hearn has cemented his plans for the upcoming 2006 racing season. "It'll be a three-prong attack," said Hearn, 47, from his Sussex, New Jersey BH Racing Enterprises, Inc. complex. "We've merged our operations with Guy and Patricia Madsen's team for the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRT Series and other major big-block events. I'll be driving Vinnie Salerno's 4-Star Racing small-block car weekly and in all the major small-block races we can fit into the schedule. And we've got a new Saturday night deal pending that we'll announce when there's more definite news from the race tracks."

Hearn and Madsen Motorsports had previous success together in the small-block division, but this will be their first pairing in the full-bore Modified class. "We're bringing back my old number. I haven't had a No. 20 Modified since the late 1980s," Hearn said. "The merger of our teams gives us a wealth of both equipment and manpower to go after victories and the overall Hoosier Tire-Sunoco Race Fuels Mr. DIRT Modified title."

The Madsen-Hearn Modified will also carry a new primary sponsor which will be highly visible for the new team's first appearance trackside at Volusia (Fla.) Speedway Park during the Advance Auto Parts Florida Tour, Feb. 15-18. "We're proud to announce that Wentworth Custom Homes of Oneida, New York has joined our effort. It's a first class operation and we're really looking forward to working with them," Hearn said. Long time associate sponsors ---WLR Construction, Kruger, 417 Bus Line Ltd., and Loudenville Cleaning Service--- are also continuing to lend support in 2006. Hearn added that he expects to sign additional associate sponsors in the near future.

"As for our small-block program, it's essentially the same as last year," Hearn said. "We've won two track titles and we've had a great deal of success together at the major small-block races across the circuit." Sponsors of the Salerno 4-Star car in weekly competition include Delaney Construction and Kruger.

Hearn, with 471 DIRT Modified (314 big-block, 157 small-block) career feature race victories and more than 60 track and series championships to his credit, is a full-time professional driver whose career spans 32 seasons. He's a five-time winner of the prestigious Eckerd 200, the "Super Bowl" of dirt track Modified racing, contested annually at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Hearn's records place him among the country's top drivers in all forms of auto racing.
