The JE DESIGN engineers once again confirm that they are the fastest of their kind. The VW tuning experts from Leingarten near Heilbronn can already deliver an entire sport programme for the new VW Scirocco which has only been introduced a few weeks ago. This programme can be ordered from free accessory dealers.

Whenever somebody is looking for an individual, sportive appearance, he is literally unable to avoid ordering a suitable body kit from JE DESIGN who deliver the suitable components in OEM quality. That means the material consists of high-quality ABS and all parts are custom-fit as they are milled with CNC. The kit for 919 Ђ includes a front spoiler which already renders dynamism even when the car is not moving and is delivered with a centre spoiler sword in carbon look. The profile is also enhanced by side skirts with air inlets and a rear spoiler extension which perfectly matches the other components and is also available in carbon-look. If desired, makeover kits for crash-tested gull-wing doors can be obtained for 1.549 Ђ

The end muffler which is made of stainless steel and comes with 2 centrally positioned oval end pipes (899Ђ) renders an earthy sound and a stunning appearance. It is delivered with an EU operating license. Also available is a half system with 70 mm pipe diameter and increased by 11 hp.

JE DESIGN offers wheels measuring 8x19 inches with 235/35 R19 tyres in "shadow silver" (2,810 Ђ), "matt black / silver rim bead" ( 2,930 Ђ) or in "white pearl / polished front" (for also 2,930 Ђ). Also under the bonnet, JE DESIGN boosts the power of the VW – the performance kit (1,249 Ђ) increases the strength of the VW Scirocco 2.0 TFSI to 180 KW / 244 hp at 6,000 rpm. Thereby, also the torque rises from 280 to 350 Nm (at 3,350 rpm). And a VW Scirocco tuned by JE DESIGN accelerates from 0 to 100 in only 6.6 seconds and is therefore 0.6 seconds faster than its serial counterpart. The maximum speed rises by 7km/h to 242 km/h.

Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 unveiled

Volkswagen has finally revealed the official details surrounding its race-prepped Scirocco GT24 that will participate in the Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race in two days.

This incredible machine features a highly-modified version of the car’s standard 2.0-litre TFSI engine pumping out 242kW and maximum torque of 340Nm at 2,100rpm.

“The Scirocco GT24 with the blue-white finish sits so low on its extended wheel wells that a hand will not fit between the wheel arch and the tyre. Yet the race car remains unmistakeably a Scirocco from every angle. Just even wider, even longer and even lower,” says Volkswagen Chairman for Development Dr Ulrich Hackenberg

Power is transferred to the front wheels through VW’s 6-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox, identical to the transmission used in the road-going model.

The interior has been entirely stripped down and fitted with a full roll-cage, Recaro racing seats with five-point harnesses and a competition steering wheel - adding up to a total weight reduction of 178kg. The car will be driven by a team of racers including rally world champion Carlos Sainz and Hans-Joachim Stuck, three-time winner of the 24-hour Nürburgring race.

VW Scirocco 24-hour Nurburgring entry

To show off the performance credentials of its brand new Scirocco, Volkswagen has begun preparing a special race version coupe for the 24-hour Nurburgring race.

The car is powered by the same 224kW 2.0 TFSI engine as used in last year’s class winning Golf GTi hatch entry and features a DSG gearbox with steering wheel mounted shift paddles.

Volkswagen will be running three of these specially prepared Scirocco race cars with two-time Le Mans winner Hans-Joachim Stuck and two-time World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz among the list of drivers.

The cars are currently undergoing testing on the Nordschleife circuit in preparation for the official race on 24/25 May.

300Hp VW Scirocco 2.0TFSi Ready For 24h Nurburgring Race

The racing version of the new Volkswagen Scirocco is all set to show off its sporting credentials at next month’s 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring (23 -25 May) as the German carmaker completed a comprehensive endurance test at the Motorsport Arena at Oschersleben.

Volkswagen will participate in the race at the legendary Nordschleife with three Scirocco cars equipped with a 2.0-litre TFSI engine delivering over 300 hp and a direct-shift transmission with DSG technology including shifting paddles in the steering wheel.

Leading Volkswagen's line-up of drivers for the 24-hour Nürburgring race is two-time Le Mans winner Hans-Joachim Stuck and the two-time World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz.

"The Scirocco has passed its first real ‘baptism of fire’ well,” says Volkswagen Motorsport Director Kris Nissen. "The racing version was developed and prepared by our technical staff in record time. With the endurance test, we’re perfectly within our truly tight schedule. The Scirocco is a real highlight: when watching the car on the race track for the first time, it simply looks cool."

Volkswagen in Geneva the new Scirocco is coming

The new Volkswagen Scirocco will debut next week in Geneva 34 years after the first generation Scirocco. The new coupè, based on the Golf platform, will be quite a bit bigger than the original, with space inside for 4 adults.

Initially the engine range will include four TDI and TSI engines ranging from 122 ps (presumably the 1.4 TSI) to 200 ps (probably the 2.0 TSI). The Scirocco will also include new technologies such as an adaptive chassis control system.
