Nissan 370Z club gathering preview - Video

Much like it did previously with the GT-R, Nissan has treated a group of its dedicated fans to a sneak preview of the new 370Z at a Nissan club gathering.



The Streetfire crew were on hand to piece together a rather in depth video preview of the trio of 370Zs in attendance, among a sea of highly modified Fairlady’s from the past - and a few GTR’s for good measure.

Nissan 370Z Stars in Need For Speed Undercover Trailer – Video

Nissan has revealed a set of images and a teaser trailer from Electronic Arts’ new video game “Need For Speed Undercover” in which the sports coupe makes its virtual debut. For those interested in taking the 350Z’s heir for a digital test drive, EA’s new action driving title will be available in North America on November 18 and in Europe on November 21. The rest of you will have to wait until the first half of 2009 when the 370Z starts arriving in Nissan’s showrooms.

2010 Nissan 370Z

After a year of renderings, rumors and spy shots, Nissan finally provided an official glimpse of the new 370Z. Unfortunately, the only images released were a few computer-generated stills and a handful of screen captures from the next Need for Speed game. Now, we've gotten our hands on the first live pics of the Nissan 370Z, captured at an undisclosed event ahead of its reveal at the LA Auto Show later this month.

While the CG images give us a general idea of the shapes employed on the new Z, it's not until you lay eyes on a few live shots (or better yet, see it in person) to let the details sink in. The new head and taillight treatments are sure to be divisive, but the new 3.7-liter V6 – rumored to put out around 330 hp – can't be argued with.

2009 Nissan 370Z official images

Following the mass hype surrounding spy shots of the prototype car around the Nürburgring, Nissan has released the first official images of its highly anticipated 370Z Coupe. These official images confirm what many suspected regarding the design of the new coupe, including the Maxima-inspired headlamps and tail lights.

However Nissan has now also indirectly confirmed that the new Z car will use the 3.7-litre VQ37VHR V6 engine by officially referring to the new model as the 370Z for the first time.

This same engine is currently used in the Infiniti G37 Coupe where it develops around 246kW; however this is speculated to have jumped by as much as 15kW for the 370Z. Nissan has boasted that this new model would target the German sports coupes, having used the BMW Z4 M and Porsche Cayman S as benchmarks during development.

This also supports current speculation which suggests the 370Z could eventually be offered with an optional DSG transmission, given its recent inclusion in the Porsche range as well as the success of Nissan’s own DSG transmission in the GT-R.

The all-new 370Z will go on sale in Europe from early 2009. Full details and specifications are set to be released on to coincide with its global debut on November 19.

Nissan 370Z

It read Nissan 370Z, confirming that under the bonnet of the two-seater coupé is a 3.7-litre V6. This is the same unit as used by Nissan luxury offshoot Infiniti. As a result, the 370Z promises to be quicker and more powerful than the 350Z, with around 325bhp on tap – up from 309bhp. We have already spotted test mules for the new model disguised as a 350Z (above), but our spy pictures reveal a distinctive new look – and its shark fin-style headlamps have clearly been inspired by those fitted to the company’s Maxima luxury saloon.

The handsome four-door made its debut at last month’s New York Motor Show (Newsweek, Issue 1,005), and the Z car will share its smart projector-style headlamps, with a row of fashionable LED lights included, too.

The 370Z is set to be revealed officially at November’s Los Angeles expo, before hitting UK dealers in 2009. It could also benefit from upgrades from Nissan’s Nismo performance division.

The car also gets a 330bhp 3.7-litre V6 engine and revised looks with new, shark fin-style lights. The 370Z will be unveiled at next month’s LA Motor Show.

Nissan 370Z official image leaked

An image has appeared on the web purportedly that of the new Nissan 370Z, captured at a recent Nissan event with a camera phone.

While the image isn’t the best quality, the front of the 370Z at least seems to retain much of the original 350Z styling with only subtle design changes made to the headlights and front bumper.

Curiously, the new 370Z retains the unusual sideways door-handle which received much criticism on the 350Z - a flush GT-R style handle would have suited the new car far better.

The new model will share the same 246kW 3.7-litre V6 engine as the Infiniti G37 Coupe, hence the new 370Z namesake.

Nissan 370Z to be unveiled in October

The latest rumor doing the rounds in the automotive world suggests that Nissan is working on an updated Z-car with a new engine and a possibly a new facelift. The rumors have it that the updated Z-car will feature the same engine that currently powers the Infiniti G37 Coupe and will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October.

With the G37 being powered by a 330 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine, the new Z-car would be designated the 370Z. The VQ37 engine that powers the G37 Coupe features Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS). The engine currently produces a maximum 330 hp at 7,000 rpm and 270 lb-ft. of torque at 5,200 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters or a six-speed manual transmission in the G37. Whether Nissan opts to up the power out put by the time the new Z-car is revealed remain to be seen.
