Revised C-Class caught testing at the Nurburgring in Germany.
Mercedes’ engineers are putting the finishing touches to the facelifted C-Class. The 3-Series rival is currently being put through its paces around the Nurburgring in Germany, as the final engineering changes are signed off ahead of the car’s debut at the Detroit Motor Show next January.
The C-Class will feature tweaks to the front and rear bumpers, and head and taillights, making them more angular. This is in keeping with the new Mercedes’ family look which was brought in with the latest E-Class.
A number of tech features from the larger E-Class have made the transition too, including the Active Lane Keeping Assistant which uses wing-mirror-mounted radar to warn if a car is in your blind spot, and Auto High Beam for the new headlights.
The interior changes will be more significant, with a thorough refresh of material and trim choices, plus a more angular design like that of the E-Class.
Under the bonnet, the engine range will feature tweaks to improve power but reduce emissions. The 7G Tronic auto gearbox will now be featured with the four-cylinder
diesel engine range and start stop will be introduced. The AMG model gets the new look, but its thumping 6.2-litre V8 powertrain remains the same.
