New Ferrari 612 spied

The Ferrari stable is preparing to open its doors to an all-new Prancing Horse! Our spy photographers have snapped this heavily disguised prototype- likely to be the next 612 Scaglietti- testing in Maranello.

Despite the heavy camouflage, the 612’s long, raked trademark bonnet is a dead giveaway as to the identity of this mystery mule. Also recognisable is the sloping rear roofline of the current car.

With a series of fake body panels at the back of the car- and possibly even a fake windshield- it’s hard to gleam any details about how the rear will shape up, but expect a complete re-design featuring LED tail-lights.

At the front, headlights inspired by the 458 Italia are immediately recognisable, while the newcomer is also likely to borrow the active aerodynamics also seen on Ferrari’s flagship.

As for what’s under the bonnet, there are very few solid details. The only certainty is that power will be increased and emissions will be cut, whether that’s done by downsizing the V12 of the current car to a V8, or employing a hybrid KERS system remains to be seen.
