A few days back, we saw some of the most exotic and expensive Bugatti Veyrons to date, and the list included the special edition Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, the world’s fastest production car. When the supercar was lately unveiled, Swiss luxury watchmaker Parmigiani showcased its new Bugatti Super Sport timepiece developed especially to complement the supercar. While the 16.4 Super Sport is billed as the fastest car in the world, Parmigiani calls its new creation “The Fastest Watch in the World.” An evolution of the Bugatti Type 370 watch, the new Bugatti Super Sport watch has a case that resembles the standard Parmigiani curved tear drop lug, and there is a set of bending lugs in traditional form. The partially carbon fiber dial of the watch has been placed perpendicular to the axis by integrating a system of double pinions with bevel gearing.
They have designed the manually wound Calibre Parmigiani 372 two planes to complement the curves of the new Bugatti watch. Six sapphire crystals reveal the amazing movement made up of 372 parts. The bridges flaunt gold black, côtes de Genève and satin finishes. The straps are courtesy of Hermes Paris. The Bugatti logo is on the dial and the Parmigiani name is on the side at 9 o’clock.
Available in a limited run of 30 pieces, the Parmigiani Bugatti Super Sport watch comes in a 18k white gold case and is priced at $259,000.
