RACELINE RADIO ADDS ANOTHER AARWBA PLAQUE TO THE WALL!

Burlington Ontario: RACELINE RADIO, still Canada’s first and only nationally syndicated motorsport magazine radio program, has collected yet another major international broadcast journalism award, taking second place honours in the Radio Broadcasting Division of the annual Journalism Contest staged by The American Auto Racing Writers and Broadcasters Association.

Announced the morning of the 91st Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, RACELINE’S “NASCAR buys CASCAR” September 17, 2006 broadcast was judged runner-up to “2006 Indy 500”, an entry from WBBM Radio, the CBS all-news affiliate in Chicago Illinois. The same broadcast won RACELINE first place in a similar journalism contest staged by The Eastern Motorsport Press Association earlier this spring.

While the EMPA contest takes entries from radio shows and networks across the eastern seaboard of Canada and The United States, the AARWBA contest draws participants from across North America.

“We’ve entered shows in both contests since day-one of RACELINE RADIO back in 1993, and we’ve been fortunate enough to either win the radio division, or finished runner-up. The AARWBA award is the big one, as it puts us up against the very best right across North America. It’s always a personal thrill to be able to score these awards!”, boasted RACELINE RADIO Anchor, Writer and Producer Erik Tomas.

“And of course we always share this award with our 19 affiliate stations along the RACELINE RADIO NETWORK. Special thanks also goes to our head Technical Producer Brad Hoffman, Programmers Jeff Storey, Rick Zamperin and the Production and Engineering staff at our Network Flagship station AM 900 CHML Hamilton, and to our Assistant Affiliate Coordinator Wendy Taylor!”, Tomas added.

“ET and the team have kept the show at the top of the charts all these years. It’s excellence we’re all very proud of!”, commented RACELINE RADIO NETWORK Executive Producer John Massingberd. “We enter these journalism contests to gauge RACELINE RADIO against the best on the air. Time and time again, our product ranks at the top, and our loyal sponsors treat it like a bonus! , Massingberd added.

The RACELINE RADIO NETWORK airs year-round, coast-to-coast across Canada. Flagshipped out of AM 900 CHML Hamilton, markets include: Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Montreal, Fredericton, Halifax, Windsor, Kitchener, Sudbury, Niagara Falls, Sarnia, Peterborough, Cornwall, Truro, New Maryland and Oromocto.
