The American magazine Motor Trend has chosen Porsche Cayman S in quality «the Best car for the driver» 2009. Simultaneously Cayman in competition «New Car Awards 2009» from British Auto Express has received a rank of "the Best sports car». In both cases central motor coupe has bribed verifiers dynamics, accuracy and speed of reaction.

Equipped with a box of gear shift Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), in magazine Motor Trend Cayman S tests felt in the elements both on country highway, and on a racing line and has got the best of nine high-quality sports cars. Cayman the second generation is offered in the market since February of this year. Its again developed six-cylinder opposite engines show the best indicators of fuel consumption and dynamics. Capacity of the 3,4-litre power unit of 320 h.p. in interaction with PDK provides Cayman S with package Sport Chrono prompt dispersal from a place to 100 km/h for 4,9 seconds and fuel consumption of km of 9,4 l/100. 2,9-litre engine Cayman capacity of 265 h.p. in a combination with PDK is even more economic: its fuel consumption makes 9,1 l/100 of km. Both versions meet strict requirements of standards of toxicity ОГ Euro-5 in Europe and ULEV century of the USA.

Besides unlike some competitors at a choice «the Best car for the driver» Cayman S has shown smaller limiting fuel consumption, than provides the tax to cars with the big fuel consumption, so-called «Gas Guzzler», it is not assessed with the special tax for uneconomical cars.

New Car: 2010 Fiat Punto Evo

This is the Fiat Punto Evo, the revised version of the Grande Punto that will be displayed at this month’s Frankfurt motorshow and go on sale in the UK Spring 2010.

As well as a mild restyling, the Fiat Punto Evo gets an updated engine range that includes the innovative 1.4-litre petrol Multiair unit. The Multiair system works by allowing direct control of air and combustion in engines, cylinder by cylinder and stroke by stroke, without the use of a conventional throttle. It saves energy wasted in traditional systems, cutting fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by around 10% over a comparable standard engine, and increasing power by up to 10% and torque by up to 15%. It can also reduce particulate emissions by up to 40% and NOx emissions by up to 60%. Fiat plans to fit the technology to all its engines in coming years.

Other engines in the range include a new 1.3-litre Multijet diesel, which features a new common-rail injector that reduces consumption by around 2% and NOx emissions by 30%, plus methane and LPG units that boost the car’s eco credentials but which won’t be on sale in the UK. This emits 115g/km of CO2. Fiat is also fitting stop-start as standard on all its Euro5-compliant petrol and diesel engines.

Fiat says the interior has been completely reworked, while the exterior has been tweaked by the addition of new bumpers and light clusters. The car is slightly longer than before, at 406cm from 403cm. All other dimensions are the same.

The Punto Evo has seven airbags as standard, including a driver’s knee-bag. Options include a hill holder function to make hillstarts easier, and adaptive cornering fog lights that switch on according to the angle of steering and a new sat-nav system is also available. Called Blue&Me-TomTom, it allows the driver to manage telephone, sat-nav and information systems via a single colour touch screen.

Jaguar XF outsells Audi A6 (UK)

Jaguar’s XF saloon is continuing to steal sales from rivals, despite the weak new car market.

Figures obtained show that the XF is outselling all of its saloon rivals in the UK and the margin is growing. It took 60% of the UK’s executive saloon market in July; earlier this year it was closer to 50%.

“We’ve been working on residuals and keen pricing and equipment levels and that’s continuing to work for us,” says Jaguar. The company reckons it operates in about 30% of the executive market, because it doesn’t offer an estate or four-cylinder diesel model. To the end of July, the XF is third overall favourite executive car despite being available only as a 4 door.

It produced 5,653 registrations, ahead of the Audi A6 with 5,000 (includes estate variants). The BMW 5-Series with 7,900 sales lead the way. The Mercedes E-Class sold 5,700, putting it in second place.

Dunkel Industries has constructed top off-road car!

Guys from Dunkel Industries have presented the unique recreational car of own manufacture to which they have entitled Dunkel Industries Luxury 4x4. As a basis to the huge off-road car for a camping has served the chassis from pickup F-650.

From the message on a site appears that engineers Dunkel Industries managed to create the car with "unlimited universality" which is provided with the system of all wheel drive Fabco borrowed at military men, capable to deliver a luxury motor van with an interior from a tree, a skin and fiber glass in such places of which other vans for a camping should not and dream. Except total, spaces in Luxury 4x4 so many that with itself in road without ceremony it is possible to take also the car in the size less. Among the other equipment there is a compartment for fire wood, a shower, built in folding panels external sitting, and also set of cells for storage of things on all perimetre of the car. Besides, on a motor van roof the go-anywhere vehicle is placed. The data about in how many this toy has managed Dunkel Industries, and volume, whether plan it to exhaust for usual clients, at us is not present.

Fiat Punto Evo: a debut in Frankfurt!

Concern Fiat has published images and characteristics new Punto Evo which will be publicly presented on a motor show in Frankfurt.

Being as a matter of fact evolution Grande Punto, Punto Evo has received completely new interior and slightly updated at the expense of new bumpers and optics appearance. Though the official data while is not present, Italians declare that Evo will receive the complete set of the updated power units. Will be among them and the 1,4-litre gasoline engine with innovative system Multiair thanks to which levels of capacity, pull-rods, profitability and ecological compatibility in comparison with traditional motors increase by 10-15 %. Besides, the assortment will fill up 1,3-litre diesel engine Multijet, and also the engines working on methane and natural gas. Moreover, the standard complete set will include also system "stop start".

Already in base equipment Punto Evo offers tremendous level of safety – the car is equipped by seven pillows of safety, including a pillow of safety for knees of the driver. Besides, the navigation-information system "Blue&Me-TomTom" uniting phone, the navigator and the information touch colour display becomes standard. Car sales start in the end of October.

American novelty: Honda Accord Crosstour!

Company Honda has presented official photos of newcomer Honda Accord Crosstour focused on the North American market. The novelty developed on the basis of ruler Accord, is positioned as the competitor to models BMW 5-Series GT and Audi A5 Sportback.
