2008 Ford Mustang Review

What's New for 2008
More features are added to the 2008 Ford Mustang. This includes standard front seat side airbags, available xenon headlights and, for the V6 models, 18-inch alloy wheels. Those who have a thing for pink should be thrilled with the new Warriors in Pink package that provides their ride with that color's accents inside and out. Sales of this package also help support the Susan G. Komen cancer charity.

2008 Ford Mustang2008 Ford Mustang-2Introduction
Man O' War, Sea Biscuit, Secretariat. Along with those legendary thoroughbreds, one might include another steed famous for thrilling its fans for nearly half a century: the Ford Mustang. Through the decades, the Mustang has survived oil crises, ever-tougher emissions standards, corporate shake-ups and Americans' diminished interest in sporty coupes thanks to an infatuation with SUVs and pickup trucks. While other so-called pony car rivals have been sent to the glue factory, the original has gotten stronger and more popular.

Most recently, the Mustang's major redesign in 2005 resulted in head-spinning styling that had both old- and new-school car enthusiasts stampeding to their local dealers. Inspired by the 1965-'69 Mustangs, the current car stands out thanks to its big grille, round headlights, side sculpting, tri-bar taillights and, on the coupe, triangular quarter windows and fastback roof.

True, the 2008 Ford Mustang is lacking a bit in refinement compared to competitors such as the Nissan 350Z and Mazda RX-8. But the Mustang's style, available V8 power, respectable handling and affordable price more than make up for it. It's a recipe that obviously resonates with Americans, as it is the best-selling rear-drive sport coupe and convertible by a considerable margin. Even as Chevy and Dodge get set to re-enter the muscle car game, there's no doubt the Ford Mustang will remain a truly a legendary thoroughbred.

1964 12 Ford Mustang Convertible struts off with a $5 million tag

Ushering in 2008, I’m sure we’ll have more news of stuff worth millions and billions. Ford Mustang Convertible was sold for $5,500,000. It is whispered to be the first ever Mustang Convertible to roll off the production line and also the first ever Mustang sold for that price tag. The car carries a build date of March 9, 1964 - the first day that the fabled pony car rolled down the Rouge assembly line.

1964 12 Ford Mustang Convertible1964 12 Ford Mustang Convertible-21964 12 Ford Mustang Convertible-3Furthermore, the car was delivered on the evening of April 16, 1964 - the night before Mustang sales were supposed to begin across the country. Documentation is included that verifies the vehicle's status.

And if all that money at one shot seems to be a bit difficult on your finances then it can also be added to your collection for $42,064.26, but that is only a monthly payment with $1,000,000 down. That too seems steep for my pockets!

2009 Ford Mustang

Ford will continue the relentless march of new Mustang variants in 2009 with a new glass-roofed edition of the Mustang that clearly bridges the gap between the current Mustang hardtop and convertible.

In 2009 - its 45th year on the market - the Mustang will come in V-6 and GT editions once more, and both will offer the glass roof as a $1995 option.

2009 Ford Mustang,Mustang2009 Ford Mustang,Mustang-2Ford cites research showing longer commute times and higher percentages of sunroof installations as its inspiration for the Porsche-like roof - that, and the data point J.D. Power reports, which has 62 percent of sportscar buyers interested in a sunroof.

The glass itself is tinted for privacy, and can cut UV in the cabin enough to cool the 'Stang 50 percent quicker than non-tinted glass. A sunshade is built into the roof for sun-scared drivers. Structurally, the glass roof mounts in a frame that's based on the coupe Mustang. And the glass-roof coupes will be built alongside both the hardtop and convertible in Flat Rock, Mich.

Ford also will sell the new $31,075, 315-hp Bullitt Mustang and the Shelby GT500KR in 2009. The Shelby edition packs in 540 horsepower and is limited to 1000 copies.

2008 Ford Shelby GT Convertible

Ford is releasing another Mustang variant!
To be honest, we’re as shocked as you are. In the wake of the several thousand new and unique Mustang trims Ford has released in the past few weeks, who would have expected another?

2008 Ford Shelby GT 2008 Ford Shelby GT -2Yet here it is: the 2008 Ford Shelby GT convertible. That’s right, the Shelby GT coupe—which is based on the Shelby GT-H Hertz rental car, which is based on the regular Mustang GT, which is based on the regular Mustang—is losing its lid.

Ford says it will aim to limit production of the new droptop to just 2300 units, although that number surely can be revised upward if demand warrants. Like the coupe on which it’s based, the Shelby GT convertible is hopped up from a more pedestrian Mustang GT convertible through the use of a number of Ford Racing bolt-ons.

Mitsuoka's Mesmerizing Yet Mystifying Mustang

TOKYO — Mitsuoka is known best as a tuner of a variety of Nissan-based vehicles, which from a great distance and with a lot of imagination could be viewed as Jaguar look-alikes. Now the tuner's attention has turned to a rather different kind of donor: the Ford Mustang.

MitsuokaUnderneath this bizarre-looking convertible — which puts one in mind of a 1960s-era Rolls-Royce in front and a 1980s Cadillac at the rear — lurks a bog-standard Ford Mustang. One look at the interior gives the game away, but it seems the Japanese master body builder has raised the level of kitsch several notches.

A top-spec Galue convertible is priced at the equivalent of $64,500. Mitsuoka is certified as a car manufacturer, so the price is for a turnkey model, ready to be driven.
