Well, Chrysler
Production of the Sebring, leverages assembly capacity for the new BBDC plant which also builds the Chrysler 300C, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Mitsubishi Outlander. Four-cylinder World Engines for the Sebring will be built at the Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance (GEMA) plant in Dundee, Michigan for export to China. GEMA is a joint venture of Chrysler, Mitsubishi Motors Corp. and Hyundai Motor Co.

Jenny McCarthy and Millinery Are Odd Bedfellows in Chrysler Contest

It would appear to be an assignment more fitting for the Queen of England than the queen of toilet humor. But Chrysler Group turned to celebrity Jenny McCarthy on Friday for the finale of its national hat design contest to promote the 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible.

The hat had to be inspired by the styling of the Sebring convertible and use a portion of the soft top's fabric in the design. Of course, the grand-prize winner gets a 2008 Chrysler Sebring convertible and other goodies, including tickets to Saturday's Kentucky Derby, which will be attended by Queen Elizabeth II.

McCarthy, an actress known for her toilet humor, was chosen as the Playboy Playmate of the Year in June 1994 and is the author of several books, including Jen-X, her autobiography. She is the girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey.

Chrysler explained that the hat contest was inspired by the Kentucky Derby, which it calls "an event also known for its equally stylish removable tops." We tried to resist the temptation to say the same thing about McCarthy.

Chrysler's Numbers Game Will Gift a Sebring to One Lucky Newborn Baby

Chrysler is running a most unusual numbers game with its Sebring. The "Chrysler Sebring Bundle of Joy Sweepstakes" will award a new Sebring to one lucky family that delivers a newborn baby at the time closest to 2:03:04 a.m. on May 6, 2007.

Yes, that's 2:03:04 on 05/06/07. The sequence of numbers won't happen in the calendar again for more than a century.
Chrysler is counting the "winning time" as that exact moment in the time zone in which the baby is born, and the stipulation is that the winner must be a licensed driver and the parent or legal guardian of the infant.
In the event that more than one baby is born at this exact time and, more important, that his or her parents enter the Chrysler contest, a random drawing will determine the winner.
The doubtless sleep-deprived new parents have until June 15 to mail in a birth certificate that proves their claim to the prize. Full details are at the Bundle of Joy Web site.
