The automaker begins taking orders Dec. 3 for the limited-edition model that will be in showrooms next spring.
The company plans to introduce a broader Challenger lineup and pricing at a later time.The limited-edition 2008 Challenger SRT8 model, which will have a 6.1-liter Hemi V-8 engine, will be available in black, silver and orange.
Each will feature a numbered dash plaque, the company said.
“The Challenger SRT8 is only the beginning of the story, as we’ll soon follow with a complete lineup of Challenger models that will offer a wide array of features and deliver outstanding value for our customers,” Jim Press, a Chrysler president and vice chairman, said in a statement.
