This weekend on Top Gear…

This week in the Top Gear office, Jeremy has been repeatedly singing ‘Daniel’ by Elton John, James has developed an excellent theory about the 1980s band Wang Chung, and Richard has made a feeble attempt to apologise for a smell he made in James’s car which reportedly left it ‘unusable’.
Some of this may become clear on Sunday night, although in many ways it would be better if most of it remained within the confines of the TG Portakabin.
There are, however, certain things that will definitely feature in this week’s programme. One of them is a test of the BMW M3 Competition Pack and the Audi RS5 as Jeremy wonders whether either can improve on the much-loved normal M3.
Another of them is a cunning idea to keep Britain moving when it snows whilst at the same time making use of that laziest of farm implements, the combine harvester. If you think about it, combines only work in August then sit in a shed for the rest of the year. Meanwhile, Britain’s cash-strapped councils are loathe to spend more money on snow ploughs when we might not need them for another five years. The solution is the Top Gear Snowbine Harvester and you will feel its majesty on Sunday evening. Probably.
Finally, we’ve got Hollywood actress Amber Heard in the Reasonably Priced Car. You’re right; most people’s first reaction is ‘Amber who?’ But as you’ll discover in the show, she does have quite a few things going for her.
And that’s the gist of show 5. Don’t forget to come back to this very website after the show for behind-the-scenes video and other moderately interesting things.
