Retro look inspires new Porsche 911 GTS

It’s back to the future for the latest 911! The Carrera GTS is the newest Porsche in the range, and plays up traits that have kept enthusiasts wowed since the Sixties.

A wide new back end emphasises the classic rear-engined profile, while a new exhaust puts the roar back into the flat-six powerplant’s soundtrack.

It even looks to the past for its name: Carrera GTS is borrowed from the famous Sixties 904 racer. As well as tweaks for a sportier sound and more low-down torque, the 3.8 flat-six also puts out an extra 23bhp over the Carrera S to send 402bhp to the rear wheels.
That’s enough to complete the 0-62mph sprint in 4.2 seconds when fitted with the optional PDK gearbox, and take the machine on to a top speed of 190mph.

The GTS is on sale from December and costs £76,758 in Coupé form, with the Cabriolet carrying a £6,700 premium.
