3,500bhp Mini for Goodwood
If you have an 11-tonne problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them - maybe you should see a shrink.Because if you ask engineering firm Cummins to fit a monster V18 diesel into an original Mini, they'll ruddy well do it.Set for a Goodwood showcase this weekend, this one-off nutjob comes with a built-in 11-tonne, 3,500bhp Cummins diesel engine, used in other such notable applications as mining industry dump trucks. Yes, dump trucks. When we say built-in, we really mean shoved on the back, because as you can quite clearly see the monster V18 diesel requires its own rather extensive undercarriage. In a biblical understatement, Steve Nendick from Cummins said: "It proved to be a bit tricky to fit under the bonnet, but our engineers came up with a more creative solution."The engine pumps out more than 10,000lb ft of torque and uses 12 turbochargers, and will likely do some minor damage to our planet's gravitational pull. This will result in the destruction of all things and the end of man. So pretty punchy, then.
